As per the subject line: I have a British Gas UP2 timer (which I think is a re-badged Drayton LP112) - it's worked fine for 15 years or more, including being able to set timer programmes etc when needed.
Trying just now to adjust the timings for the winter, the SET button doesn't seem to be working - it's meant to take me into the 'PROG' and similar setup which I've done loads of times before, but now nothing happens.
The obvious answer would be that the button is just broken - *however* if I press and hold the button, it does do a full reset of the timer: So it seems the button itself isn't broken, but a normal 'short' press doesn't do anything so I can't set the timings I need.
Anyone got any ideas why a short press doesn't work, but a long press of the same button does? Otherwise I'll have to accept that maybe after 15+ years it doesn't owe me much, and fork out for a replacement. I have already tried the two normal solutions to these things (i.e. switch it off and on again, and hit it a few times on the right hand side!) to no avail.
Thanks all.
