Last night (3.30am) woke up to the radiators sounding like they were about to blow! Nasty noises coming from the airing cupboard and on investigation it looks like the Central Heating Pump has broke.

No problems replacing it but we were planning in the next month to change our HW / CH system to a combi boiler and take our the airing cupboard / tank.

If i buy and fit a new pump is there anything I can do with it after we've had the whole system replaced?

Cheers

If you buy a cheap pump its only about £25.

Are you really so concerned about the cost of a mediocre meal out?

The existing pump may just be seized up and it might be possible to free it up. See FAQ

Tony, thanks for the reply...

I'll check if the pump has seized tonight.

Not concerned about cost or doing the job (although i'd obviously prefer not to!) just want to know if there's any use for an extra central heating pump on a combi boiler system?

If not it'll just go on ebay after a month of use!
