broken lock on upvc door

Hi... my conservatory door lock has just broke, the handle has suddenly gone limp and there is no tension on it. The door still locks and the barrels are sliding into the keeps. It's a G U lock at least that's what it says in the locking bar strip. The handle stays horizontal when the lock is in place, but hanhs down when not locked.
any help would be appreciated

Have a look at this video

after you have taken the handles off , it may be as simple as replacing the spring in the handle.
If not, The locking mechanism will have to be changed .
This is doable by yourself so don't worry about it .

I note it's a GU lock, referred to as 'old style' and it's one of the most common for internal failure, I'd bet my house it's this type, easily fixable yourself quite cheaply though
