Broken threshold on front door frame

Right.....

Deluge finally paused, I decided to have a go.

A carpet edge trim, with the gripper points all hammered flat, and an 1/8" sawn off all along its length.

Cut bottom threshold rubber gasket from frame at corners.

Generously filled the carpet edge trim with clear silicone sealant, and pressed whole thing down onto threshold upstand (so as to allow the door's weather bar to pass over it, without catching).

To make up for lack of bottom rubber seal now, I drilled three extra drain holes into the inside bottom edge of the threshold at its lowest point, and joined them into a slot. Tested drainage with glass of water - job's a good 'un.

Survived yesterday's storms with no leakage, and no discernible draughts.

It'll do, until we get the whole lot replaced.

Thanks for advice from all who took the time.

Nothing wrong with that, infact a very good work around, very close to my suggestion but mine involved coming over the front but that would require the specific ali trim for the profile, you've just done it the other way round
