Hi folks,

Just finishing a substantial renovation of our house. Two windows where left in situ during the work and now have a red/brown substance on them that won't be shifted.

Any idea what if might be?

If you can't pick the bits off, 10 to 1 its metal particles stuck to the glass and plastic with heat :(
Its brown due to rust :(
John :)

Oh sheet :(
You'll probably see the particles burnt into the plastic too, if I'm right.
Can't really see what else it could be, unfortunately.....maybe the contractors have been using a Stihl steel cutting saw or whatever in the vicinity.
John :)

Maybe they were cutting near the glass before it was installed.....who knows.
If the glass is etched though, I don't think there's much hope for it :(

You could try some iron-x. It’s used for taking iron brake disc particles off car paintwork. Might remove the rust spots but won’t heal the etched glass.
