BT phone connection

Hello.

I am wanting to move the location of my phoneline master box. I have traced the cabel back and have 2 questions

1. On the outside box, one feed cable comes in and 2 come of it (a black and a brown) any idea what the brown one is for?

2. The second photo shows where the black cable coming from the outside box connects to the internal cable. What are these connectors called and how do I go about replacing it?

Impossible for anyone here to know. Either find the other end of it, or disconnect and see what stops working, if anything.

The other item is a manky old junction box with screw terminals, and is scrap.

The professional way to relocate the interior socket would be to install a new cable from the grey outside box to the position of the socket inside, and join the cable in the grey box with these: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/GPJC2C.html

Disconnect the old cables and remove them.

However note that doing so is not actually allowed - you are supposed to contact your service provider who will arrange for Openreach to do the work.
Plenty of people do such things themselves and if done properly it's not a problem. However if you damage or destroy something, you will have to pay for repairs.
