BT Star wiring issues and problems with new ISP

Ok, thanks. So to simplify this for me, realistically I just need to crimp the two incoming wires from the exchange onto the ones going to my NTE5 and can do away with everything else in that box?
 
Yes. But good crimpers.
But you will definitely not have any BT equipment to "blame" though!
