Can someone tell me what radiator BTU I should use for a room 4mX4m.

Thanks.

4x4= 16 square m.

This is an area (like a sheet of paper) that cannot be related to heat requirement or heat loss. To effectively calculate the size of a radiator, one has to know the contsruction of floors, ceiling, windows, walls, compas aspect of the room, what the room is to be used for, number of air changes per hour and the temperature of adjoining rooms. Installation of said radiator then opens another can of worms that needs more questions answered.

Ok. The floor is joists with 150mm mineral wool suspended on Netlon covered with 22mm Caberboard. The ceiling & walls are covered in 12.5mm Gyproc with 37.5mm Polyfoam Plus bonded. The room is NW facing. One wall has a 3.5m X 2.1m window in Meranti hardwood. It is glazed with 6mm toughened glass (6mmx12mmx6mm). The room is used to make the most of the evening sun hence the large window. The kitchen joins this room. It also has a doorway leading outside. Approximate BTU will be fine. Better than not knowing at all.

according to my cheap(free) radiator sizing cd assuming cavity walls it tells me 8000
i have no doubt i will suffer on the forum for this
we really need to know what the walls are
hope this gives you a direction in wich to go :D
