So recently moved a new terrace house. The old fireplace place was covered and i wanted to open it up. So ive kncoked through the plaster and took 2/3 bricks out at most.
Been researching on google about the builders opening. I was expecting to find the lintel but it couldnt find. Ive took plaster off fairly high now, and have come across a concrete slab. Is this the lintel?

Is it safe to knock out any more bricks?

Any feedback would be great appreciated!

Concrete slab is the lintel.

You'd need to remove more plaster to the sides of the lintel to determine if you can take bricks out from the 3 rows below

Removed more of the plaster. The 3 row's of bricks below seem very loose. Could i remove all the bricks directly below the lintel.

Then re lay some bricks to make a decent size opening.

Been trying to get a tradesman to do the job but struggling to find someone.
