Hello everyone, I think I know the answer to this but just want to check that if I am building a wardrobe frame from CLS timber do I want a mitre saw or a circular saw for the cutting? I have previously done this sort of stuff with a handsaw but I think it is about time I invested in a bit of tech in order to make it quicker, easier and more accurate.

Would you buy a decent brand second hand or a new value item, in both cases?

I have seen circular saws for very cheap second hand but I wonder if they might be a bit risky?

For cls use a handsaw. If your cuts aren't accurate or straight, then invest in clamps and a workmate, or a couple of sawhorses, and practice.
What will it be clad with? If using a sheet material such as MDF, then a circular saw is what you need.

All tools are risky, for a circ saw you want your material clamped and both hands on the tool.

A second hand DeWalt is probably safer than a new one from Temu. (Although it could be nicked!)

Do you really mean CLS (even not really suitable for Furniture) or MDF (sheets)

May I suggest you look at 10 minute workshop for some inspiration. Tracksaws. Wardrobes.
