Building an external wood canopy with roof - ok if wood is damp/wet?

Sorry if it’s a silly question I can’t find info about it online

I’m building a patio canopy. I’ve got the wood it’s outside in the wet.

I’m about to secure the main front beam to the posts.

Then I’ll be fitting beams from ledger to main beam that hold the roof sheets.

It will all be secured together.

but if the wood is wet when I do this as it’s been in the rain then once the roof is on and the wood dries out won’t it all shrink and put my framework under stress?

Shrinkage will be minimal so fine .

Thanks. I was hoping it would be considering when roofs are built in houses it must be very hard to ensure it’s all constantly completely dry

Most builders merchants keep their timber packs outside.

Ive had it delivered sopping wet.
It weird that the treatment used these days seems to make the boards slimy like soap when wet.
