Hi I am looking to build my own vanity unit, I have bought the sink and Mixer tap and I know the design I want, am just stuck on what material to use. I thought of using mdf and mosaic tiling it to make it water friendly but the other half isn't keen so what material and finish/paint to use?

Thank nath

any moisture/condensation will probably blow the mdf.
you might be able to use moisture resistant mdf,but that may blow aswell.
wpb/marine ply lipped and then painted should do the trick.

Thanks al get some measurements get the materials and probably post again with a few questions should I build the frame out of 2 b 2 and would it be better to put it on some kind of bought legs ie plastic/ metal or not?

Many thanks nath

I think my skills are better then my collection of tools :) circular saw, miter saw and a drill is about it. Was thinking off purchasing one but not alot out there.

my suggestion would be to build a book shelve or bed side cabinet first to build up your skills
any gaps will attract moisture in the bathroom
