see picture attached. I am building a porch which has just received planning approve. I have some questions.
we plan to have the porch to have the same size door as the current door. And the piller as a wall.
1) Does this porch need a cavity wall? Or should we double brick like the piller. We was going to tooth into the pillar and carry on building.
2) if it is double bricked, do we need to double brick the side that hits the garage wall(on left).
3) how deep and wide we make trench?
4) we have to remove step. Under the main floor how deep should we go?
5) how deep should we put concrete?
6) at what stage should we stop work for inspector to see? After footings done? After concrete put in?
7) what's best way to cover trenches while they are exposed. Don't want the postman falling in
8) can I reduce width of porch? I noticed a vent below. The approval said subject to following plans.
