Building regs issue

So Tony what you r saying here is that after work has been done over 12 months little authority can do??

I am in Northern Ireland and work was done 35 yrs ago
Assuming the rules are the same in NI as England, correct. There has to be a time limit in these matters, and 35 years has to be way, way out of time;
most inspectors would not even be familiar with the regs at that time, and it would entail them doing much research to check - just not worth the bother.

OK BC Officer has been out and listed a lot of points that has to be complied by can they follow this up or will they mayb let it go?

To help if anyone reads this because they have had a similar problem, I had to bite the bullet and get Building Control round. It couldn't have been easier. He didn't mention anything about the room whatsoever. He looked at the windows inside and outside, said they looked well built. He contacted the builder to verify the construction and a regularisation certificate was issued. Cost me £265.
