Hi All,

In the process of buying a house. The property has had a loft 'conversion' which is classed as a storage room (fair enough)

It currently has a full stair case from the second bedroom and velux window.

Currently waiting for the solicitor to let us know if building Regs are conformed to as the surveyor brought up the question.

But does it need Building Regs if it isn't anything other than a storage room?

We genuinely aren't going to be using it as a proper room as we already have a spare bedroom.

Advice greatly appreciated!!!

You hope it does conform to building regs, but conforming to building regs, is different than having building regulations certificate.
When has this work completed?

Yes I understand your jokey reference. Lets assume if it had a certificate it was conforming.

Not sure, it's not really new! Will see what solicitors say!

Assuming there is no Building Regs for it (if there was it would be being sold as a bedroom wouldn't it?) if its sold as a storage room and you buy it as a storage room and you consequently sell it as a storage room then as long as its not inherently dangerous I don't really see the problem.
