Building steps using blocks - can i use porcelain slabs ?

Hi All.

I am building a step to step down into my garden. Please see the pictures below. I was going to have the step riser rendered, however I was doing some research and thought I could use some 20mm porcelain slabs as the steps/risers.

My main concern is around sharp corners/edges where the step meets the riser.
