Hi,

I want to mount two 600 mm ovens side by side with their bases resting on the top of a couple of standard "under the counter"600 wide cabinets or one 1200 one. Is this straightforward, or is it "not usual but no problem" or is it not advisable?

To my un-practiced eye, They could stand on their own bases, be screwed down and sideways and then wired in - leaving the necessary airflow gaps as per a normal housing.

The reason is that I don't want any structure above them or below them - I want to fit a top above (ventilated properly) and then some shelves, maybe a microwave etc. and also have an open space for other items below. I'm unable to obtain doors or front panels that match my existing kitchen ones so thought I'd use a neutral decor panel on one side. They're mounted in a corner so only 1 panel would be required.

If I can't do this, I'll be buying a double oven in a single housing. Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks,

OK Lewis

If you comply with whatever the manufacturer's instructions say about mounting.

Some may require the use of an oven housing unit, others will probably just specify mounting points and minimum distances.
