Built using too much plasticiser

but, my stuff doesn't do that

SORRY - I USED THE LINK FROM 'LOST IN THE LIGHT'.
NOT YOUR PRODUCT - What product are you using?
BUT I WOULD USE TE NUMBERS BELOW AS WILL BE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR YOUR NEEDS

Yes it does. The spec you sent says:
Dilution: 1:30 Sovereign Waterproofer to fresh clean water.

So make up a bucket/tub of water to be used to make your mortar/concrete and add:

1 litre of Sovereign to 30 litres of water
or
1 ml of Sovereign to 30ml of water
or
33 ml of Sovereign to 1 litre of water
or
333 ml of Sovereign to 10 litres of water

Eamman,
Got it.
Your product is here:
https://www.bostik.com/globalassets...-data-sheet/bostik-mortar-plasticiser-tds.pdf

So using the assumption that:
water
to cement ratio should be around 0.55.

If your total cement requirements were 25kg (one bag), then the calculation would be: 25kg x 0.55 = 13.75kg (liters) of water.

So for every bag of cement you use you need ABOUT 14litres of water.
As it states 85ml to 25kg cement

So if you wanted to pre mix your water then put 85ml into 14litres of water.
Or 6ml into 1 litre.
Or 60ml into 10 litres.

I know it says mix into the cement, but
adding to water for your use will be easier and
these numbers will be close enough and will work without issue.

I know I shouldn't say this but Bostik say not to add it to water! but,I can't see how else to add it!

I was going to use a cap full ,as I know NOT to put a lot in in case of issues! Are you a builder???

As you need 85ml for every 25kg bag of cement, yo have a few methods:

1) Use quarter a bag of cement
and add 21ml

2) Use half a bag of cement
and add 42.5ml

3) Go outside and stick your spade/shovel into your cement.
Weigh how much cement you have on your shovel.
For every 1kg of cement on your shovel you add 3.4ml

Unfortunately,I don't have a weighing scales for that,I might try the 6ml to a litre of water, though! Surely it can't be far off that!

With all this lockdown business I've had the wife doing the dishes with Febmix. 1 capful per sink of water.

Ha,Ha! As a matter f interest if there was too much plasticiser in the mix would it show when mixing with the dry mortar ?

Eamman,
It will be perfect.
And for you, who I presume is hand mixing, and not using a machine, it will better as pre-mixing with water will ensure it mixes 100% in with the cement.

Nope, 3.4ml into 1kg of dry cement would disappear like tears in the sun.

Now stop asking questions, and get out there, and finish making that wall.

And we want to see photos.
