Plasterboards in a few diferent parts of my house (mostly in the attic) have over the past few months developed bumps and perforations. Can someone provide some guidance to why this should be happening, and whether it is normal? Pictures included.
Was it plastered during the time you had the house or before? Do you know if plasterboard (if it is plasterboard) was papered or painted? the finish doesn't look smooth, if it were skimmed.
Are many of them in long narrow bumps? it could be the dry wall tape joins between plasterboards for some reason coming loose (wrong type of tape?)
Sometimes if plasterboard is nailed, the nails can work loose with movement and bring up the odd bulge in the plaster over time but not long and narrow
One of the smaller 'bumps' can you take a scraper to it and see what you find if you scrape it back?

We moved in in April last year, so not quite sure when plasterwork was last done on it.
There are some long narrow ones ~2cm in width. But they vary, and some are splodgy. There is no obvious signs of moisture/damp, but if there was, would I expect such a result? I will look for a small bump and report back.
