i was cleaning all the crap out the CH feed tank this evening while ive got the system drained temporarily.

The copper float ball broke off from the end of the valve arm due to a fair amount of corrosion so i need a replacement and have a couple of questions:

1. Is it fine to replace with a plastic ball float? Im not sure if the plastic types are compatible with the system inhibitor that ill use when refilling

2. The old ball has an amount of liquid inside it. no holes anywhere that i can see for it to get in or escape so im wondering if it is pre weighted or something and i need to take that into account when replacing.

Cheers
Rob

Yes plastic will be fine, it's not pre-weighted, there will be adjustment on the new ball float/arm and valve to set the water height accordingly.
