i have a close couled wc suite and the syphon needs re placed, trouble is that when i put it back together i get a leak from the nuts and bolts that hang from the metal plate, i have had the cistern off umpteen times but is still leaking, i was told to put plumbers mate on it, but where would i apply this, to the bottom of the cistern before i put it on over the wc hole or what ????

plumbers mait is a bodge.
replace the do-nut washer between the cistern/pan
