Hi,

I am going to put timber cladding on the ceiling of my extension. The existing ceiling is a concrete slab (underside of the flat roof).

There is a light in the middle of the ceiling, the cable is clipped to the concrete. Can I leave it where it is and cover with the cladding (the distance between the concrete and the cladding would be approximately 40mm)? Or shall I run it over the cladding in a conduit?

Thanks in advance

As long as it can't be damaged by the new ceiling fittings then it is fine to leave it how it is and put the cladding over the top of it.
