This may sound like a silly query, but i'm not sure how the advertised dimensions for these things work - usually two dimensions are given, under the heading 'min' and 'max', which may most obviously give smallest to largest cable diameters fitted - but i have rectangular cross section cable, so i was wondering if they were maybe the two dimensions for that? What i'm trying to do is make some smallish cables attach securely to circular 20mm knockouts on an adaptable box. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Weev.

you need suitable glands for the cable you have, what is the cable you do have ?

Yup - you can only compress them so far...

No - they are what you first suspected

Maybe I'm missing the point here, but surely with "rectangular" cable, probably the most sensible plan would be to use glands with "rectangular" holes?...
