cable in roof

Could any one tell if it is ok to run a 10mm t&e cable between the roof tiles and the felt - ie, in the space that the roof batten provides.

I have been asked to run a cable between 2 rooms and there is no ther way - unless you clip it to on of the exposed beams in one of the rooms.
