A cable installation for a shower circuit installed by Dolphin showers!

The cable is kept nice and warm by the heating pipes and then passes through a hole for alarm cables.

I found this on a job last week. Nice big test sticker on the DB with Dolphins name pre printed on it. It is 6mm. The owner is away at the moment, I will inform them. Very shoddy install. Unless Dolphin replaced the shower and used existing cable?

It is 6mm.

That's never 6mm². The pipes next to it look like 15mm (diameter)
That cable is only 1mm² or 1.5mm². I assume that it is only feeding a shower pump and not an instant heat power-shower??

Its probably new wiring. Check the conductor colours - if its brown and blue then that means its probably new wiring
= Dolphin need to cert ify and notify the installation.

surely the pipe going from bottom to top is a 22! so the cable looks like its about 18mm across.

Its 22mm pipe. Its 6mm t & e cable.

18mm?? ive been doing electrics for 2 years and have never heard of an 18mm cable conductor size before?

So it's probably 10mm²

18mm as in the width of the overall sheath, not the CSA of a live conductor..

17.1mm across makes it about a 10mm² cable..
