I want to install a shower to a location served by 6mm2 cable through a 30 amp fuse.

This suggests I need a shower with 7.5kW maximum demand, but there don't seem to be any about. Most showers come in 8.5, 9.5 or 10.5kW options. Can I fit an 8.5kw to this cable or will I keep blowing the fuse ?

is the CU a wylex standard

if so then put in a 40A plug in run to a seperate rcd and then connect to the cable goign to your shower

this should be fine as long as thermal insulation is kept away from the cable
