I need to repoint the front of the house; it's a 1900 house so it's got lime mortar, which I plan to use when repointing.
I'm going to dump some hydrated lime into a dustbin and fill it with water to give it at least a few weeks to mature.
I can work out how much mortar the wall will need - I'm not sure how to calculate how much mortar a 25kg bag of lime will make with a volume sand ratio of 1:3. Any tips?
