......or anyone else who has an idea!
I'm looking for the water temperature sender on a 406 Hdi on a 2001 plate - the gauge doesn't want to play.
Is it the green one, below the thermostat housing?
Cheers for any info, and good evening everyone
John :)

autodata is showing one ect sensor only but exact location is unknown, it points to a location on the right hand side of the engine as you look at it

That sounds about right mate, thanks.
I'm hoping it will bring the tickover down too - its at 1500 RPM at the moment which would be much too high at any time :?
John :)

Sorry I can't hep you John, nothing has gone wrong with mine since I had it, I have only opened the bonnet a couple of times to change the oil :D

Peter

I guess by that comment, Peter, that Peugeots are so fabulously reliable that you don't have to.....presumably you fill up the washer bottle through that rusty hole in the wing :P :D
Slight update.....the temperature gauge has decided to work again (takes 20 miles to do so though) and I tapped the throttle potentiometer box and the tickover is now 900 rpm. Vive la France!
Have a good evening!
John :)

Oh, I had forgotton about the washer  I have filled that. This one has been remarkably reliable, 12,000 miles now and apart from routine repairs it hasn't needed any attention at all, and its done over 200k now. A bit different to the XMs, although once you have got everything working on them they can also be reliable, one of mine is coming up to 300k now - but its going rusty :(

Peter

I think the PSA group products are seriously underrated regarding corrosion - its only accident damage / repair that seems to start them off.
Look at the few ZX's, 306's that are still kicking about - they are remarkably good.
On this dog kennel I'm referring to (seriously, thats where the guys collie lives) every panel is dented or scratched, yet there's no serious rust.
My own Berlingo van is better protected underneath than my Skoda is, much to my surprise.
John :)

There are still quite a number of 405 estates around down here and most of them appear to be rust free. My XMs have been for nearly 15 years but I think the guarantee on the galvanising has just run out :D
