Can a gas meter box be moved?

Our drive is narrow and the gas meter box makes it much tighter. If we could move it to the front of the house, life would be much easier. Is this an option? Obviously not a DIY job!
I'm also thinking that the drainpipe could connect to the one at the front, rather than be on the side. The box takes the drive width down from about 230cm to 210cm.

It is an option, but only the gas transporter is permitted to do it. They charge what they charge... hope you have deep pockets!
 
lol, maybe time to get a smaller car and save some money?
 
I fitted my own box and the gas people rerouted the pipe to it from the front to the side.

You might be able to swap yours for a recessed box that sticks out less than the rain water pipe.

They robbed me but simply swapping your box might be a lot cheaper.
