We have had some problems with our boiler in the student house, we have a Vokera Linea 24. I have managed to re pressurize the boiler using the filling loop, but one of my housemates had twisted a black knob thing that is situated further behind the filling loop, can anyone tell us what that black knob is for? ive tried to look in the manual but it doesn't say what it is and its not on the diagrams! it has little arrows on it saying 'open' and 'close'.
PLEAASEEEE help!
Thanks

That's the isolation tap for the cold mains into your boiler. You need it open to get hot water.
The filling valve tap should be pointing upwards too.

Ah thankyou! Glad to finally know what it is!
So its on closed at the moment, does this mean that we wont get any hot water?

Don't all the Lineas have the three position black lever on the right side?

What is the three position black lever thing? the filling loop? I literally have no clue about boilers!

That sits on the cold in

ON = cold water going to boiler to be heated

OFF = OFF, no water to boiler or filling loop

Filling loop = Water passes to the round knob on the left through the flexible hose which also has to be open to fill the system. Hose should be disconnected after use to eliminate any passage of low grade heating water into the drinking main.

You know the position the three way lever is in because the writing will be the right way up.
