Apologies if this is one of those frequently asked & answered questions, not really sure what to search for to find the answer!
I'm looking to replace a light switch which controls an external light and is a 2-way for one internal light. I'm struggling to figure out what wire goes where since the new socket doesn't look the same as 15 year old one. {Photos attached. There are at least 2 earth wires going to the back box which can't see on the pics.
Any help appreciated as in what goes where.

Follow the same configurations and as for the earth wires, your new switch will connect to the back box via the unit securing screws, so in reality the earthing can be forgotten.

I'd take a fly lead from the back box earth to the new switch.

Just read it properly, did you mean 2 gang not 2 way?

Many thanks. Apologies, it's 2-gang, each switch is for a different light, neither of which have another light switch. Idiot here thought for a second that the lounge had 2 switches when it doesn't

The switches are both two triangles.

The new switch has one triangle upside down, otherwise they are the same.

That reminds me of a very lucrative contract I won decades ago on a string of MOD sites. Identifying every back box and then providing every back box with a fly-lead to ensure each box was earthed. The whole thing was a waste of tax payers' money as all the wiring was in continuous metal conduit. Then I won the DTC contract for a full term which in turn led to a MTC for a whole region.

Your new switch has the two halves differently oriented, your old switch has them the same. If your new switch was like the old it would look (a bit) like this:

We who know are ok with this but I'd say it adds more confusion for the OP if he comes back for another look.

All sorted. I reckon if I'd applied common sense I could have sussed that one side upside down!

Thanks for the completion feedback - unfortunately there are many out there who cannot understand the simple position twist.
