Can anyone help?

Hi

We are having problems with our combi boiler, the pilot light will light but as soon as you call for heating or hot water it goes off and the burner wont light, any ideas anybody?
Any reply would be greatly appreciated.

haha sorry, not very technical, its a alpha 240, yes we know its naff, but we cant afford replace it at the mo.

ok we need more info on the fault.
Turn everything off including power. Light pilot, pilot stays alight on its own.
Turn power on, still alight. Open hot tap, fan starts, pilot light goes out, would that be correct?

Ive just spoke to my hubby, if the power is off the pilot light wont work. Yes the fan starts up as soon as you turn the tap on, the pilot goes out then after a few seconds the gas valve clicks off.

in which case im afraid you'll have to get an RGI as it will be a gas related problem. Forum rules prevent anyone giving diy advice on gas related faults.
