can anyone identify this ceramic cartridge

i enclose 2 photos of a cartridge i have taken from my single lever mixing tap in my bathroom. i am trying to identify a replacement.

i took the cartridge to my local plumbing centre but they cant help me unless i know the make of my tap, which i have no idea.

i also enclose a link to a generic cartidge which is supposed to fit most types of single lever tap. the measurements are identical to mine although on the generic model the cold and hot inputs are slightly differently shaped to the round ones on mine (do you think that would make any difference).
