Just to preempt the answers that I would give:

* Looks like a circuit board
* Could be an alarm

The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed the sticker reading G2-44, which suggests it's a Galaxy G2-44. Indeed, though it isn't shown, the front cover also shows G2-44. However, looking at the manual, the circuit layout looks nothing like a G2-44 but does bear a striking similarity to a G2-20. So, the question is: which is it?

It is an ADT G2-44 firmware version 1.41. The manual shows the PCB for the G2-44+ which is why it looks different. The G2-12, G2-20 and G2-44 all have the same layout PCB.

The panel is 6 years old. The latest G2 firmware is now 1.55

Still a brilliant panel though!

So there's a difference between the G2-44 and G2-44+? Genius!

Just out of curiosity, how does one tell the difference between a G2-12, 20 & 44 PCB?

The 44+ supports the old ecp bus and the g2 gsm modem which is no longer made.

The only way to tell the difference between the non '+' models is by the label or by powering on and displaying system details.

There's still a lot of life in the g2 series yet. You can add low cost ethernet and control via phone apps. You can add wireless. You can self monitor with IP comms.
