Hi,
Got a leak today & on pulling up the boards I found that the outlet from the pump on 25mm goes to what looks like 2 sets of 8 10mm pipe connections in parallel. The outflow & return seem to connect to the same pipe with no valves or anything like that, just straight connections that then links back to the boiler.
I cant quite see how the rads get a flow from this set up unless there's some non return valves hidden somewhere & it might explain why they've never been hot.
I'm assuming this is some cobbled single pipe version & I'm thinking of changing it to a two pipe system. Any advice anyone can give on what kind of a set up this is would be much appreciated. It has a standard header tank with return, 2 thermostat controlled valves & pump.

I've linked photos below of what's there in the junction, each set of paired pipes is going to one rad, 8 reds in total. Cheers.

Cheers thanks for that, definitely that looks like that's the sort of thing it is..
The guy who put it in many years back vented the expansion pipe into the hot water tank & angled the overflow from that into the expansion tank, so after a few yrs of spicy tea I'm a bit cautious of what he might have done. Anyway, looks like he did that right, that price got my teeth chattering, time for some plastic piping I reckon... cheers again.

It is a Yorkshire WM8 Micrafold.
22mm flow and return to/from the boiler, 10mm flow and return to/from the rads.
