Hi everyone,

I am building a garage in the garden out of concrete blocks (single skin, 2.5m eaves height).

Have done some ringing round for materials etc and the 7N blocks that I was going to use up to damp course are cheaper than the normal blocks that I was going to build the rest of the garage out of.

Is there a reason for this? I thought it would be the other way round with the 7N being stronger.

Also, to save on materials can I just build the whole garage out of 7N blocks?

Thanks in advance for your help

Yes, you can build it from the 7N block, though left unrendered it will end up covered in green stuff.

Nothing to stop you using 7n dense but buy paint grade smooth.
Only disadvantage you can only lay maximum 5 course before they are swimming every where.

As per Old Codger. You faff around too much with any free ended jambs or returns and you could end up with a pile of 7n dense hard core.
