Hi All

My garage roof has seen better days and i'm thinking about replacing it. It's currently only a plastic sheet roof but I would like to put a proper tiled roof on it.

I'm a competent DIYer but not sure if this would be a step too far. The garage measures 2.8 x 4.8m and has a lean to roof connected to the house. Could I build my own roof trusses for this using nail plates, or would it be better to build a cut roof. Does anyone know of any good websites that give instructions on building both types of roof?

Cheers

Paul

You can do either.

Trusses will rely on the walls being square and level, cut rafters can be made to measure. Nail plates are OK to use

Here are some principles
