Can I connect a new light to a ring main

Hello all

Can anyone please help me

I am in the process of adding some LV lighting in the front room and cannot easily access the lighting ring at the location of the new light.
Is it OK to connect this circuit into the back of a new double socket that I am also installing which in turn is fed from the downstairs ring.

PS: it is my intention to connect via an unswitched fused spur

so long as you use 2.5mm twin and earth (from spur to socket) and the socket is on the ring yes you can.
