Can I dig up my pavement?

If I ask "Can I dig up my pavement?", and a kind soul replies "do what you like". Does this mean

There will be a prize of a perfume bottle full of Covid-19 serum from the Russian Novichok labs (95% efficacy) for a random participant.

Replying to a strangers post saying “do what you like” when you can’t actually do what you like is quite irresponsible on behalf of the person writing that comment.

If you replied to a close friend who you know and can gauge their interpretation of what you said to mean you can do what you like with in reason that’s one thing. On a open forum to a complete stranger should have included more detail than just “do what you like”

Can we have a "none of the above" or "other"?

I'll add you to the "Best Nannying with irony" category so that you don't miss out on potentially winning a prize for your efforts. (y)

Can't be A. because I have already dug my pavement up and I have the crown to prove it.

It could be a rotating title of limited time.

Just to test the theory of still being able to do "what you like", could you try popping down to the local pub and ordering a few pints and chasers without actually ordering a "substantial meal", and if the Police come ask them to get a proper job and go and find some real criminals. See if they liked what you did when you did what you liked. Report back - via your solicitor if need be.

I don't know - it depends how strong you are, and on your stamina. What equipment do you have - pneumatic drill, or just a crowbar and a spade?

Or did you mean to ask "May I dig up the pavement?"

If only!!! tier 3 up this way, you now have to buy your wine and sit in the park with your brown paper bag if you don't want to drink at home!
