Hi,

Quick question - looking at either:

Sylvania LS100 Cabinet Light T5 Tube 8w 350mm

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Lig...net+Light+T5+Tube+8w+350mm/d220/sd3066/p24203

or:

Sylvania LS200 Cabinet Light T5 Tube 6w 250mm

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Lig...net+Light+T5+Tube+6w+250mm/d220/sd3066/p94577

These are both mains powered and will be purchased to replace some existing (other brand) damaged units in the kitchen.

The current units are wired to the lighting circuit and are controlled by an MK grid dimmer switch (not a low voltage dimmer).

Simple one: can these HF ballasts be dimmed without any issues?

Many thanks :)

That's a shame, many thanks - will look down the LV route and see if I can accommodate a grid LV dimmer

Sorry, one more - would this be suitable?

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70115781/

Halogen, (assumed) built in transformer - would this be fine on a low voltage dimmer? (believe I have a dual function MK grid dimmer - does mains + LV - need to double check of course)

:)
The instructions don't say - you could ring Ikea.
The other thing you need to check is the range of the dimmer.
This unit is 2 * 10w lamps = MK grid dimmers normally range from 40/220w for single dimmers and also the transformer must be able to take leading edge dimmers.
