Can i fit a single oven in a kitchen base unit (cupboard).

can i convert and old base unit which is 600mm wide to hold a single oven.

Yes.
But you will have to remove the back of the kitchen unit, this is most likely just flimsy hardboard but can be something a little more rigid.
Also you may have to pack some runners between oven and unit base, use the shelf as additional support to bring the height of the oven up, leaving a small gap between oven and worktop. This will then need a fillet in that area, to cover the gap made by the packing, this fillet for aesthetics would ideally be the same colour as the kitchen doors.
