Can I fix a leaky toilet through the flush plate?

Hi, we have 2 toilets in our house that are a bit leaky, the one shown in the pic below is by far the worst. We hear it refilling itself regularly and can see the water going down the back of the toilet.
The other toilet isn't as bad, but does do it sometimes.
These toilets are 5 years old and as you can see, the cistern's are concealed which is a bit of a nuisance to be honest

Because it's leaky, I'm wondering if I would be best getting something to just do it that knows what they are doing, or is it likely I could try ad fix it myself via the flush plate? Or would that be too awkward?

Yes, you should be able to remove the plate and that then gives access to the drop flush valve. Hopefully that will then twist and unlock and lift out. That then gives you access to the rubber seal, it is usually that that needs replaced. That and clean the base seat that the seal sits on.

The Gerberit is a perfect example -
