I think the title says it all.

At present the kitchen floor is ceramic tiles. We're about to replace all the kitchen units and install a range cooker. Can we lay a floating floor of 18mm solid oak T&G (as we have some boards left over from the bedroom though we will need a few more) and if so should we lay it over the whole kitchen floor and then plant the units and range cooker on top or just to the edge of the unit legs, so under the plinth which will possibly need to be trimmed. Will the weight of the range cooker cause any problems. I do want to be able to move it if necessary for servicing and cleaning (once in a blue moon!).

Thanks
