can I lay cushioned vinyl on top of laminate?

As the title says really. I hve laminate in the seperate toilet room which has been stained by wee ( 4 year old son, not mine), andlooking for quick fix really.

Its only a small toilet and are looking at 2m squared.

Although you can lay the vinyl on top of the laminate, I would suggest the laminate be removed mainly because of the wee that might have soaked into the boards, and underneath
