Is it possible to put down self leveling compound and then top it with another layer if required after it dries? If so how long would I wait before adding the second layer and are there any special treatments I need to carry out on the surface of the first layer to help with bonding of the second. thanks in advance for any advice.

yes with a good quality compound. And always prime. What is the reason for 2 coats and how deep over what subfloor?

Hi
Its concrete sub floor which is flat and level bar a bump in the middle which I have hacked at but it still not right. At its worst spot its about 8-10mm above the rest of the floor. This is why I was thinking a second layer may be required.
