Hi

I am after some advice.

I have a combi boiler in my spare room which I am about to decorate.

The isolation switch for the boiler is the other side of this room under the stairs leading up to the loft.

I am planning to block in under the stairs which will make it impossible to access the isolation switch in it current location.

Is it possible to move the switch and if so can I put it nearer the boiler or am I required to have it a certain distance from the boiler?

Thanks in advance
JP

If it's a normal room, then put it as close as you wish. I would think you would require a sparks to do it legally.

Normally, the isolation would be in the vicinity of the boiler for ease and speed of access. Just don't place it under the boiler.

If it requires a new circuit then need to be Part P qualified. If no new circuit then a competent person can do it I believe.

Check in the electrical forum about moving a circuit just to be sure.
