I am currently removing 3 layers of woodchip wallpaper from my landing and stairs. On the solid walls, the plaster has blown underneath in various places. I haven't yet taken all of the paper off.

Can I plasterboard onto the paper (I'm guessing I can't). If not, then can I put plasterboard directly onto the plaster after taking off the woodchip, rather than pulling off what appears to be loads of plaster over the bricks?

I really don't want the mess of pulling the plaster off first if I can avoid it.

Please help me as I really don't know what to do. Thank-you. :?:

strip the paper off and get a plasterer out to advise you, you can dab boards straight over and skim but should be ok to patch and re-skim walls.
