I am laying new vinyl in the bathfoorm and will be putting a ply inderlay. Is it ok to slide these under the toilet (rear waste) rather than cutting round it as this would probably look much neater?
Thanks
Malcolm

sliding underneath the pan would be fine. my only surprise is that it would be physically possible to slide it - pans normally have very little give in them. i would probably remove the toilet 1st and then put it back after the flooring is down.

just a thought - but making a cardboard template may eliminate the need to slide underneath, perhaps using a bead of silicon around the base just to finish it off and cover any small gaps. you do need to get the template right though and that's not that easy.

if you go for sliding then only caution being to check afterwards that nothing has been disturbed ie leaks (pan connectors are notorious once disturbed and only remedy to buy new)
