Can I replace an alarm panel with a different brand?

Hi,

I have recently moved into a rented propert. The alarm is a 10 year old Wickes alarm. The door sensors had been removed, so I've fitted new ones and got the alarm working for a few weeks, but now digits on the main panel have started to fail so I can't enter the code.

So my question is, can I replace the panel with a different branded panel. I don't know much about these things, so don't know if the Wickes PIR and door sensors will work with a different panel.

Additionally, any recommendations for a new panel?

Assuming wired sensors, then yes, change panel to anything you like.

Budget is usually a decider in choosing replacement.
