Hi all,
The white pipe pictured comes from my Grant Vortex oil boiler.
There is nothing wrong here, except that my kids are now of an age that they want to play with basketballs etc on the patio and I can just see this getting broken. Same with the black pipe, which goes to our earth rod (overhead incoming mains power - I'll be getting a professional to move that, not going to touch it myself).
For reasons I can't explain, the condensate pipe is routed under the patio. Not easy to work out where it goes and I can't find it connecting in any of the obvious nearby drain points, or into the ACO that runs along the side of the patio nearby.
Anyway, can I reroute that white pipe using a couple of 90deg elbows into the drain you can see in the top right of the photo? Leaving an air gap of course. Presumably I don't need OFTEC for this work, or do I?
Is that kind of pipe (22mm I think), solvent weld? I will also lag it when done, no idea why it isn't already lagged.
By the way the other pipes into the drain currently are the gutters (black) and the washing machine & a utility sink (white). It's a garage wall pictured.
I am not 100% sure where that drain leads, it was done before I was born.
P.S - I am aware that the location of my tank doesnt comply with current regs
plumber tells me every year when he services the boiler.
P.S.S - Should I be concerned about the surface corrosion on the copper oil line?
